“Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chairman Joe Baca D-Calif. faced a coup attempt by members upset with his leadership Thursday, and he was fighting back to save his job.
On Wednesday, Baca supporters accelerated a vote to make him chairman of the group’s non-profit institute. On Thursday, his allies hoped to turn back the coup by invoking a rule in the caucus bylaws that require a two-thirds vote to remove the chairman.”
