“A Salinas Valley Spanish-radio and television pioneer known for the hat he wore with an old-fashioned tilt has died.

Luz Cadena, one of the first to air music and stage concerts for campesinos in the late 1950s, died at his home in Salinas on Saturday after an extended period of ill health. He was 80.”
