“Qwest Communications International Inc. NYSE: Q has been recognized by Hispanic Magazine in the publication’s list of the 100 companies that contribute most to the Hispanic community.

According to the February issue of Hispanic Magazine, Qwest is among the top 100 companies that support the Hispanic community through donations to Hispanic organizations; organizing Hispanic employee associations; scouting talent from Hispanic MBA and diversity programs; maintaining diversity supplier programs; promoting Hispanics within their ranks; and, naming Hispanics to positions on their boards.

“Qwest is honored to be included among the national corporate leaders in Hispanic Magazine’s “Corporate 100’ list and will continue supporting and staying involved in the Hispanic community,” said Hector Placencia, director of multicultural marketing at Qwest.

Qwest is committed to maintaining diversity in its workforce and attracting talented Hispanic employees. The company offers excellent training, education and community volunteerism opportunities for Hispanic employees. The Qwest Hispanic employee resource group, called SOMOS, also provides a unique cultural perspective to Qwest leadership on various business-related issues that are important to the Hispanic community.

Qwest is also active in the Hispanic community. The Qwest Foundation supports numerous Hispanic cultural organizations, and many Qwest leaders are members and chairs of Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. In 2006, the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce named Qwest its Corporation of the Year and the Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce named Qwest its Corporate Advocate of the Year. The Tri-City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, located in the Prescott area of Arizona, also presented Qwest with its 2006 Business of the Year award, and Hispanic Magazine further recognized Qwest as one of the Top 25 Places for Minorities to Find Opportunity for Advancement in the April 2006 issue.

Throughout the companys local-service region, Qwest provides the Espíritu de Servicio Spirit of Service to its Hispanic customers and has created several products tailored to the Hispanic market. Qwest currently offers the largest package of all-digital Hispanic TV programming with Qwest® TV Latino wherever Qwest Choiceâ„¢ TV is available, and recently launched Qwest® Plan Latino, a long-distance calling plan with reduced rates to Mexico and Latin American countries. The plan includes a flat rate of just seven cents-per-minute for long-distance calls made to Mexico.
