“Officials at Santa Clara University are hoping a racially-themed student party held last month will not hurt their efforts to recruit freshmen from the Latino community.

The university said it has officially denounced the “South of the Border” theme party, held by students who came dressed as Latino janitors, gardeners, housemaids, and pregnant homegirls.”
