“The war of words over a Spanish-speaking officer reached new levels as the town supervisor said he would no longer work with some members of the county’s police Hispanic society.

Supervisor Thom Kleiner recently said he would not deal with the current leadership of the Rockland County Police Hispanic Society - particularly its president, Michael Greco - because of what the supervisor said was an effort to “sabotage” the roughly 90-member departments attempt at accreditation. Accreditation is a state certification that means the department reaches or exceeds certain standards.”
