“A federal jury in Detroit has awarded a $254,000 verdict to a suburban police lieutenant after finding that the department discriminated against him because he was Hispanic, not black.

Thomas Diaz sued the city of Inkster in 2005, alleging he was passed over for promotions to commander, deputy chief and chief of police in favor of less qualified black colleagues.”
