RCN Introduces MiTelefono Spanish-Speaking International Calling Plan

“RCN Corporation NASDAQ: RCNI, a leading provider of triple play cable, high-speed internet and phone services, announced today that it has launched a new International calling plan that compliments its robust Hispanic cable TV programming offering.

MiTeléfono, or “My Telephone”, is a Latin American/Spanish Speaking international calling plan that allows current and new residential customers to stay in touch with family and friends in 23 Latin American countries, plus Spain and Puerto Rico. Callers can connect to their loved ones in frequently called countries like Mexico, Brazil, Spain and the Dominican Republic at highly competitive per-minute rates for just $2.95 per month . MiTeléfono will be available to small business customers in the future.

This new international calling plan, specifically designed to dramatically increase choice for RCN’s Hispanic customers, is of greater value when it is bundled with MiVisión, RCN’s high-quality, content-rich Hispanic tier of cable TV programming that includes 30 distinctive channels and Spanish language VOD. The $2.95 monthly charge for MiTeléfono is waived for new customers who sign up for the complete tier of Hispanic cable TV programming, MiVisión, or the Paquete de Variedades, translated as “variety package”. Current customers with MiVisión or Paquete de Variedades who order MiTeléfono will also get the new call plan with the $2.95 monthly charge waived.
