“ImpreMedia, LLC, the nations leading Spanish-language newspaper and online news publisher, announced today it has agreed to acquire Tribune Company’s New York publication, Hoy, and its related weekend publication in New York, Fin de Semana. The pending acquisition does not include the Hoy publications in Los Angeles and Chicago.
ImpreMedia is the owner of New Yorks El Diario La Prensa; the nations fastest growing paid major daily newspaper according to the ABC Fas-Fax released in September 2006. In fact, the combined circulation of El Diario La Prensa and Hoy New York over the past 10 years has more than doubled, with an 8% compounded annual growth rate. This growth underlies ImpreMedias strong readership and advertising revenue growth, both of which are significantly higher than those of mainstream publishing companies.
ImpreMedia is purchasing Hoy New York from Tribune Company NYSE: TRB, one of the nations top media firms. Terms were not disclosed.”
