“Mendocino County Mental Health awarded over $56,000 in Mental Health Services Act funds to local Native American and Hispanic groups in January. The $5000 to $10,000 grants were awarded to eight tribal and Hispanic groups for culturally-based mental wellness and support activities.
Mental Health Director, Noel ONeill stated, “The MHSA Mini-Grants project enables Mendocino County Mental Health to initiate new, self-directed services, and to build supportive and collaborative relationships with ethnic communities, especially those located in the rural areas of the County.” ONeill explained, “After these projects are implemented this year, both County Mental Health and the communities themselves will have a better understanding of the types of helpful mental wellness services the County can provide.”"
