“The nine Walla Walla High School students competing in a regional science bowl this weekend have more than an interest in math, science and astronomy in common.
They are also all girls. And they are all Latinas.
The girls were participating in the Bonneville Power Administration Science Bowl. Hosted at the University of Portland, the competition was expected to draw about 250 students from 50 schools across Washington and Oregon.”
