“Nearly two-and-a-half years after an earlier effort at a national Latino/a LGBT advocacy group folded abruptly, a steering committee of nearly two dozen activists from across the U.S. has announced the appointment of 11 of what will eventually be 13 board members of a new organization, Unid@s.
During the month of February, the transition of governance from the steering committee to the new board will be completed, and the new directors will work on refining the organizations mission, which in its preliminary form emphasizes supporting existing and emerging local efforts across the country and doing advocacy work on the national stage.”
