“Promoting local businesses and making resources available to members were among the messages expounded when the newly formed Hispanic Chamber of Commerce kicked off its membership drive Wednesday night.

The event was attended by a state level dignitary, local government figures and numerous business people at their temporary headquarters at 753 S. Main St. “We want to make Del Rio a prime prospect for the for the Hispanic oriented marketing companies throughout the nation to bring more cash flow into our communities,” Chairman Sergio Diaz told a crowd estimated at between 90 to 100 in setting the tone for the evening.”
