Kings of the Mountain: Five Hispanics sit atop corporate landscape:
Hispanic Business celebrates its annual listing of the nation’s Corporate Elite by looking at the winners in the ultimate reality series, The Battle for the Corner Office. This year there are five Hispanics who helm Fortune 500 companies or the dominant arm of a Fortune 500 company. These officers may differ in age, sector, background, and country of origin, but they have several traits in common. In general, they are aware of the disconnect between Corporate America’s desire to diversify and the demographic and educational issues in the Hispanic community that slow advancement.
Boardroom Elite:
Although the Hispanic population grows steadily larger, both in absolute terms and as a proportion of the American population, Hispanic representation in the boardrooms at the nation’s biggest companies is not keeping pace, according to a survey by HispanTelligence. This January/February Hispanic Business magazine has compiled its annual Boardroom Elite, a listing of Hispanics serving as directors of companies appearing in the Fortune 500.
