“Growing up amid a segregated community in Greeley nearly half a century ago, Polly Baca can still remember the pain she and other Latinos felt being forced to live separately in their own community.
Rather than storing those memories away, Baca is now an avid Latino rights leader. A former 12-year member of Colorado legislature — serving in House District 34 and Senate District 24, representing Thornton and Northglenn — she said she uses those vivid accounts from her past as ammunition.”
