“Arkansas Repertory Theatre in Little Rock has established a new playwriting residency to support African-American and Latino playwrights.
Voices at the River is a new biennial program designed to support writers both nationally and in Arkansas. The program, funded by a $275,000 grant from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation, includes a two-week playwrights residency in August 2007 at The Rep, plus Legacy Awards, totalling $10,000, recognizing “an outstanding African-American and/or Latino playwright who has made a significant contribution to the national canon of theatrical literature.”"
