If one were to commission a film script based on the past six months of Juliette Gonzalez Pulido’s life, a working title might be From Bogota to Alberta: A Basketball Odyssey.

But what she brought to the Dinos was a South American style of basketball — something her coach calls “razzle-dazzle” — and an undeniable winning attitude. A bit player to start the year, she now often plays the most minutes on her team, which is 11-7 this season, running the Dinos offence by barking out plays in a thick Spanish accent that earns some good-natured ribbing from her teammates.”
