“Making the team was one thing, but making an impact is quite another. Pulido hadnt played competitive basketball in years, as the university system in Bogota is, in effect, a scrimmage league with six-member teams.
But what she brought to the Dinos was a South American style of basketball — something her coach calls “razzle-dazzle” — and an undeniable winning attitude. A bit player to start the year, she now often plays the most minutes on her team, which is 11-7 this season, running the Dinos offence by barking out plays in a thick Spanish accent that earns some good-natured ribbing from her teammates.”
