“Miles away from Manhattans celebrated theatre district, nestled in the middle of a neighborhood referred to as Little India, lives the little Spanish theatre that could. Repertorio Espanol, the oldest Off-Broadway venue, has been residing there since 1972. The area might have seen many changes over the past three decades, but Repertorios success was not one of them.
Rene Buch and Gilberto Zaldivar founded Repertorio, winner of the Off-Broadway Theatre and Drama Desk Awards, in 1968. The duo wanted the general public to be exposed to the distinct, exceptional world of Latin American, Spanish and Hispanic American theatre.”
