Knowledge is Power!
“Enter the movie Bella, a feature film financed completely by private individuals and filmed in 24 days around the New York City area. First screened last September at the Toronto Film Festival, the film deals with Jose and Nina, two Hispanic restaurant workers in New York City dealing with struggles in life. Jose went from being a soccer-star-in-waiting to a prep chef at a Mexican restaurant, while Nina is distraught after being fired from her job as a waitress shortly after discovering shes pregnant. Together, the two roam around New York, finally moving out of their pasts and into a better future, strongly aided by traditional elements of society: faith, hope, family, and love. More than a feel-good story, Bella is both touching human drama and cutting-edge social commentary.”
