“As the Latino population grows, the community needs to focus on achieving the education critical to preparing for the future and assuming state leadership, keynote speaker Roberto Almanzan told a gym full of Latino families Saturday at California State University, East Bay.
The more than 1,000 middle and high school students, their parents and teachers attended the free “Education Is Everybody’s Business,” or “La educacion es el negocio de todos,” at the seventh annual summit, which focused on how to make the most of the opportunities available and discover new ones.”
