Spanish banking seminar planned - Los Angeles

“When it comes to dealing with banks and other financial institutions, many Latinos are reticent, according to officials for a nonprofit group sponsoring a free seminar in Spanish on Sunday.

“They don’t trust the banking system, so they keep their money in their mattress,” said Mario Pabon, spokesman for the Solvent Group, which organized the financial education workshop from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at A Mi Hacienda restaurant, 9613 Whittier Blvd.”
