“A 17-year-old De Anza High School senior seized earlier this month by federal immigration agents who were looking for someone else has been released into the temporary custody of her older brother, a United States citizen, who has retained a lawyer to help her obtain legal residency.

While in custody, “Elvira said that they gave her a form to sign that they provide to all detainees, with boxes already Xd out saying they dont want to see a lawyer and all that,” which she refused to sign, Santiago said. “My brother signed something, but hes not 100 percent sure of what he signed.”"
