“The Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber Hispanic Chamber will announce the establishment of the Oregon Latino Scholarship Fund on Tuesday, January 30 at 10:00 a.m. in the Meadowlark Room, 3rd Floor of the Portland Marriott Waterfront hotel. A result of support from The Oregon Community Foundation OCF and the Meyer Memorial Trust, this endowment fund will provide a long-term source of college scholarships for Latino students. Based on research showing that family income is a major obstacle for Latino students in completing college, the Hispanic Chamber has conducted an annual scholarship fundraising drive since 1994. As a result, almost $700,000 in scholarships has been raised and awarded to Latino students throughout Oregon. The Oregon Latino Scholarship Fund marks the first time that two of Oregon’s largest foundations have partnered with a Hispanic Chamber to support scholarships for Latino students. “
