“The humble tortilla is putting a pinch on the wallets of taco lovers all over Chicago.

Theres a growing demand for corn for the gasoline additive ethanol. And with more corn being exported, prices have risen upward of $5 a bushel, the highest in at least 10 years, said Bob Young, chief economist for the American Farm Bureau Federation.

Thats translating into more-expensive tortillas in grocery stores across North America.”
