““Zona 22” Zone 22 is KWHY’s newest daily one-hour television show that focuses on the Regional Mexican music scene featuring on-location entertainment segments from around the southland, music videos and artist interviews. Since its premiere this past November 30, viewers have been sending emails via the show’s website, http://www.zona22.com, and through the show’s My Space page http://www.myspace.com/zona22. As a result of all the attention, the show’s producer, Pepe & Elmer Media, decided to create a thirty second television spot that spoke to the viewers through the viewers.

“We wanted to reflect what the audience is feeling and incorporate new technology by doing so. I think it’s important for brands that are looking to advertise in Spanish language television to realize that the KWHY audience is watching, paying attention and using their internet savvy to make their comments known,” says Juan-Carlos Duran, President of Pepe & Elmer Media and producer of “Zona 22.”

Pepe & Elmer Media has produced a spot that highlights four viewer comments pulled directly from My Space. “We’ve had tremendous support from the audience, and at the same time they let us know when they didn’t like something, which, as a producer, is incredibly important to have data on,” adds Duran referring to a recent email that came in asking the show to shape up the grammar when its hosts spoke. “Zona 22” is produced by Juan-Carlos Duran, Alex Blanco and Oskar F. Salas and airs Monday through Friday from 4pm - 5pm. The show is hosted by Erika Garza, from top rated Los Angeles Spanish radio station La Raza, 97.9FM.
