The U.S. citizen from Puerto Rico said he signed up because the motor-vehicle clerk asked him about it when he went to get his drivers license. He didnt intend to vote.

A Sentinel analysis of election data shows that Hispanics in Central Florida made significant gains in registration since the gubernatorial race four years ago — adding about 90,000 eligible voters to top 200,000. But many, such as Gonzalez, never made it to the polls.”
