Knowledge is Power!
“The first speaker in the spring Bacardi Family Lecture Series is Jorge Duany, 2007 Bacardi Family Eminent Scholar in Latin American Studies at the University of Florida. Duany will talk on “Transnational Migration from the Hispanic Caribbean: Changing Settlement Patterns and Cultural Identities” at 4 p.m., Jan. 29 in the Keene Faculty Center.
The lecture series is hosted by the University of Florida Center for Latin American Studies with support from Bacardi Imports, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the state of Florida. The lectures, which are free and open to the public, are presented by distinguished Latino scholars from across the United States.
All lectures begin at 4 p.m. The other featured speakers and lecture dates are:
