“The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra has received a $50,000 grant from the Joyce Foundation to commission an orchestral piece from a San Francisco Bay Area musician.

Plans call for Gabriela Lena Frank, a composer-pianist of Peruvian, Jewish and Chinese heritage, to visit Indianapolis and draw inspiration from Central Indianas Latino immigrants to compose a piece for the ISOs 2008-09 season.”
