“Congratulations are due Oscar Gomez for his selection to the South Sioux City Council and to Mayor Bob Giese for his choice of Gomez.
The 30-year-old Gomez, who graduated from Briar Cliff University with a bachelors degree in business administration and is Hispanic banking services manager at Security National Bank in Sioux City, is believed to be the first Hispanic member of the City Council in South Sioux City history. He was named by Giese from a field of 10 candidates to fill nearly two years remaining on the council term Giese left vacant when he was elected mayor.”
