“State lawmakers are teaming up with the American Red Cross to reach out to the Hispanic community in hopes of combatting blood shortages.

House Speaker James Amann, D-Milford, and the Hispanic Legislative Caucus announced Thursday they will seek state funding for a proposed $450,000 effort to hold about 180 blood drives in Hispanic neighborhoods across Connecticut.”
