“Peter Munoz is the first Hispanic to run for Mayor of Madison. We wondered whether the growing Hispanic community could cast the deciding vote in the upcoming primary election in February. It turns out, even though the community is growing, its still too small to make a big difference. But thats not stopping some politicians from courting them.

“Even though the Hispanic population has grown, were still talking about a very small number of people living in Madison,” said UW political science professor Benjamin Marquez, who studies Latino politics.”
