Latino immigrant poll should be an eye-opener for area officials – Kansas City

One finding, in particular, should be highlighted for all local leaders ”” 63 percent of the families are “mixed status,” meaning some family members are legally in the country, and some are not.
In addition, many of the challenges the families face have more to do with class issues than immigrant status. Framing policies solely around the “immigrant” label is often a quick way to miss addressing the real concerns.”
