“Latinos in California lag other racial and ethnic groups in obtaining college degrees, a bad omen for the economy considering that 40 percent of the states working-age population will be Latino by 2020.
If the fast-growing Latino population continues its pace of college attainment, the states per capita income will soon drop below the national average, said Nancy Shulock, director of the Institute for Higher Education Leadership and Policy at California State University, Sacramento.”
