“The Hispanic Directors Association of New Jersey today announced the award of a $147,399 one-year contract to work with the State Department of Labor and Workforce Development to increase Latino involvement in New Jersey job training programs, English language and literacy programs and civics courses.

“The Latino community is the fastest growing segment of the New Jersey labor force and its participation in these programs is far below what it should be,” said Daniel Santo Pietro, executive director of the Hispanic Directors Association of New Jersey, “Demographics indicate that the Latino population is the youngest segment of our population. As the general population ages, the Latino workforce becomes ever more important to the future financial prosperity of New Jersey.””
