Voter drive to target Chicago’s Latinos

Tagged: , ,

“More than 100,000 Latinos in the Chicago area are eligible to vote but are not registered, according to an advocacy group planning to hold voter-registration drives before next months municipal elections.

Organizers said the drive will focus on communities with a substantial Latino population, including Humboldt Park, Little Village, Logan Square and Pilsen. They hope to capitalize on the energy from last springs immigration-rights marches, which drew hundreds of thousands to downtown Chicago streets.”
