Tagged: Film, Mario Lopez, Oregon, WashingtonPosted on: January 5th, 2007“Si TV, the first English-language, Latino-themed network, recently launched on Comcast in Oregon and SW Washington. Acclaimed as a hip, irreverent network that connects with young viewers through vibrant and relevant programming that speaks to this audience, Si TV goes beyond tradition by catering to today’s English-speaking Latinos who consume English media, but still want TV programs that speak to their Latino roots.
“Oregon and SW Washington has a growing demand for programming geared specifically towards young Latinos, and Si TV is a great fit,” said Curt Henninger, SVP/GM for Comcast in Oregon and SW Washington. “Our digital cable customers will be excited with this new addition to our channel line-up.”
Si TV’s high-quality, original programming features shows that encompass entertainment, lifestyle, talk, stand-up comedy, classic series and feature films, as well as irreverent reality programming that pushes the boundaries of the genre.
“Advertisers and cable operators are realizing that the young Latino audience is growing exponentially in the U.S.,” said Michael Schwimmer, CEO of Si TV. “We are excited Si TV has launched in Oregon and SW Washington because it validates our effort to provide young Latinos with compelling, culturally-relevant entertainment in English.”
Some of Si TV’s original programming includes Dating Factory, the network’s first dating show hosted by actor and TV personality Mario Lopez; Flow & Tell, a series that lets viewers speak directly into the camera expressing their deepest thoughts, rants and opinions, linked with today’s hottest music videos to create a one-of-a-kind interactive narrative; Styleyes Miami, Si TV’s popular fashion style magazine series that brings us tomorrow’s fashions today with new episodes from America’s sizzling mecca of style; and Unacceptable Behavior, Si TV’s first fully-scripted comedy show with off-the-wall and irreverent sketches.”
