“Area colleges are offering Spanish courses to health care professionals to better serve Cabarrus County’s growing Hispanic population.

Language is a barrier to reaching the Hispanic population, said Pam Hurley, parish nursing and health ministry director for NorthEast Medical Center.
“There’s never enough people to translate,” Hurley said.”
