“There is no literal translation for “snowboarding” in Spanish. Surfear la nieve, to surf the snow, is as close as it gets.
But if the efforts of a few forward- thinking entities in Colorado come to fruition, that may soon change. La revolución is already underway.
“Im bilingual, and in a lot of ways Im the guy the ski or snowboard industry is looking to capture,” said Juan Alberto Delaroca, 32, from Nederland. “But I was fortunate. I got those few opportunities to go snowboarding as a kid and took advantage of them. I loved it, so I stuck with it.”"
