So in 2005, when Rubio announced plans for La Puerta del Sol, an ambitious, Latin-themed, mixed-use commercial center on Cedar Shoals Drive, he assumed residents on the eastside would welcome the addition. Rubios plans called for building a restaurant and gallery, a greenhouse, a bakery, retail shops and possibly some residential quarters.”
