“Frances Martinez Myers, chairman of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals NAHREP and a senior vice president at Fox Roach/Trident of Philadelphia, was among the real estate industrys top 25 thought leaders for her efforts to increase Hispanic homeownership. REALTOR Magazine, the publication that serves the 1.3 million members of the National Association of REALTORS NAR, publishes the prestigious list annually.
Myers, who heads the 14,000-member non-profit trade association, was singled out for her campaign to increase Hispanic homeownership by raising awareness for the issues that continue to challenge Latinos.
Over the past two years, she has traveled around the country for countless personal appearances to speak to business audiences about the Hispanic market. At the helm of NAHREP, Myers is leading the charge for the organization to provide tools and training for real estate advisors that work with Latino homebuyers. Hispanics are largely underrepresented in the industry they make up just 4 percent of NARs 1.3 million members, thereby making a limited availability of bilingual professionals to work with Spanish-speaking homebuyers.
Under Myers leadership, the trade association has launched a national referral network that pairs homebuyers with bilingual agents and introduced virtual training for practitioners that want to learn how to work effectively with the cultural distinctions of Latino home seekers.
A 30-year veteran of the real estate industry, Myers is the first Latina to serve as NAHREP chairman and the first leader outside its original founders Gary Acosta and Ernest Reyes to lead the organization. Martinez Myers handles her responsibilities at NAHREP in addition to her day-to-day role as senior vice president at Fox & Roach/Trident LP, the holding company of six home services, financial and relocation related services. In her capacity, she oversees the business development efforts of Prudential Fox & Roach Realtors, the fifth largest real estate company in the nation, which includes responsibility for relocation, REO, and affinity marketing services.
She also oversees Employee Transfer Corporation, a national corporate relocation company.Martinez Myers serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Realtors, Freddie Macs Affordable Housing Advisory Council and the National Advisory Council of Fannie Mae. She is also a member of worldwide Employee Relocation Council ERC and has received its meritorious service award.
Based in Washington D.C., NAHREP is the premier trade organization for Hispanics in the real estate industry. Founded in 1999, the organization has more than 14,000 members in 48 states and 53 affiliate chapters. NAHREPs mission is to increase the rate of homeownership among Hispanics by empowering practitioners with tools and information that will help them better serve homebuyers. “
