“Hispanic activist Pete Chacon likely will be remembered the same way he was viewed in life — as troublemaker and hero.

Chacon, who died Dec. 14 at his home in Finley, earned both titles during a lifetime of fighting for often controversial causes. He was 76.

Its possible, of course, to be a troublemaker without being a hero, and vice versa, but champions of social justice invariably combine the two.”
