“As Gov. M. Jodi Rell decides which commissioners to keep in her new administration, she is being urged to retain the handful of minorities in her top staff.

“We are very concerned at this point,” said James Griffin, president of the Greater Waterbury Chapter of the NAACP and a former state NAACP president. “From all indications, the signals coming out of Hartford are not looking good for African-American and Latino appointees, and were not happy with that.”"
