One Band One Mentor One Shot Si TV is – Jammin
Tagged: mobile, SiTVPosted on: December 19th, 2006“Recognizing the growing Latino indie rock scene, Sí TV launched an innovative multi-platform series, Jammin’ on Sundays at 10:00 p.m. PST and EST. The 30-minute program highlights the dreams, struggles and triumphs of talented up-and-coming rock bands and pairs them with rock legends, Joan Jett, Los Lobos, and John Densmore from The Doors. This intimate portrait of young musicians is Sí TV’s first series to combine multiple distribution platforms including on-air, broadband, VOD and mobile.
“We understand that not all young Latinos identify with hip hop or reggaeton, preferring rock instead. Jammin’ connects aspiring bands with established musicians who mentor and take them under their wing,” said Ed Leon, SVP of programming and production of Sí TV. “It turns a simple meeting between an unsigned band and their idols into the opportunity of a lifetime.”
In January, sitv.com will launch Jammin’: On Stage, an interactive user generated community site. Bands from across the country will have the opportunity to upload their video, build extensive profiles where users can vote and select the top three to perform at a music industry showcase.
“Our Jammin’ digital media initiative will leverage the power of community and social networking to give all indie bands the opportunity to build and interact with their audience,” said Lisa Black, SVP of digital media for Sí TV.”
