Irving ISD works to hire teachers who reflect diversity – Texas
Tagged: student, teacherPosted on: December 18th, 2006“Compared with most other North Texas districts, Irving has a higher percentage of Hispanic teachers – about 19 percent this fall. Last year, only the Dallas school district had a slightly higher percentage.
The Irving district also serves a more diverse student body than most – its enrollment is 65 percent Hispanic. Administrators say having a staff reflective of its student body is a goal. More than a quarter of new teachers hired this fall were Hispanic.”
