“Jovita Carranza, former vice president of air operations at UPS in Louisville and President Bush’s choice to be the U.S. Small Business Administrations deputy administrator, has received confirmation from the U.S. Senate. She had been unanimously endorsed for the post by the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

Carranza, who was named Hispanic Woman of the Year by Hispanic Business magazine in 2004, said she is looking forward to applying her 30 years of experience at UPS to the SBA. Both organizations are “dedicated to meeting the service needs of small businesses and the communities they serve,” she said.”
