Well be looking at immigration issue in months ahead – Chambersburg, Pennsylvania

While most locals didnt go out of their way to befriend the migrants, no one seemed to fear or resent them. Churches felt an obligation to do what they could to alleviate the difficult conditions under which the migrant workers lived.
What a different world it is today. The Hispanic population has grown, regionally and nationally. Immigration — legal or illegal — is such a white-hot issue emotionally that its difficult to have a reasonable conversation about it.”
