“More than a year after sheriffs deputies fatally shot three Latino men in separate incidents over a five-day period, the sheriffs Vista Station continues to work on improving relations with the citys Latino community.

All of the deputies involved in those shootings were white, as were the deputies involved in another officer-involved fatal shooting in October of this year. All of the victims were Latino. The deaths caused an uproar and accusations of racism were leveled at the Sheriffs Department, in a city that the San Diego Association of Governments says has 94,000 residents.”
