“Ramos and his brothers are among the immigrants who tend to be better off financially in Nevada than in California or the rest of the United States, as recent Census Bureau data suggests.

In Washoe County, about 12 percent of immigrants lived in poverty in 2005, compared to 17 percent nationally, according to American Community Survey data released last month by the Census Bureau based on a survey sent to 12,660 Nevada homes in 2005.”
