Goodbye, Bacilos: Band helped raise IQ of Latin pop
Posted on: December 15th, 2006“Sometimes even good music and dreams coming true are not enough. And so it is that Bacilos, the Miami trio that started by gigging at South Beach bars and ended by shifting the direction of Latin pop music, are breaking up, taking a fistful of Grammys and memories of stadium sing-alongs with them. Theyll play their last concert at West Dade club La Covacha tonight.
There are no regrets and plenty of pride — although, as always with Bacilos, theres wry humor with a touch of bitterness about the vagaries of the Latin music industry.”
