But members of the group, known as MEChA, which has chapters at 400 universities and high schools across the country, say the charges are false and often propagated by anti-immigrant groups.
“Thats definitely absurd . . . just people trying to create drama,” said Omar Medina, a member of MEChA at Sonoma State University in California. MEChA helps students go to college and have pride in their culture, he added.”
