UNLV students protest Pahrumps English only ordinance – Nevada
Tagged: English-only, Nevada, protest, studentPosted on: December 14th, 2006“The debate over a new “English-only” law in Pahrump makes its way to the valley. Students at UNLV demonstrated against the new law Wednesday. They say it discriminates against immigrants and promotes hate.
Students were walking around with duct-tape over their mouths. They called it A Day of Silence. It was meant to symbolize the people in Pahrump who they say have been “silenced” by this new law.”
